FAQ
O-Sensei
A true warrior is always armed with three things: the radiant sword of pacification; the mirror of bravery, wisdom, and friendship; and the precious jewel of enlightenment.
Aikido is the principle of non-resistance. Because it is non-resistant, it is victorious from the beginning. Those with evil intentions or contentious thoughts are instantly vanquished. Aikido is invincible because it contends with nothing.

Martial Art - General Interest

Haghure - This is often referred to as The Samurai code but given that this was written late in the dynasty of the Samurai and that there is much controversy about even the fact that samurai had a standard code of conduct, it is unlikely. What can be said is that it is from this manual that the legend of the samurai code of honor came from largely and the image we see in modern movies. Taken in this context it is a good insight.

The Book of five rings - This is a very condense version of the book written by Miyamoto Musashi, once of the greatest swordsmen in the history of Japan and known for his two swords fighting technique. FOr the last two years of his life he went to live as a hermit in a cave to write this book before his death in 1645.

The art of war - one of the oldest military strategy book ever writen (6 bc) by Sun Tzu (check here). It contains such essential truths that much of the modern military warfare strategy and tactics can find their roots to this book. About 15 years ago it saw a revival as it was addapted to business and the way to conduct modern business.

Swords General

The Japanese sword Guide - Thi is a must for anyone wishing to learn about japanese sword, from beginners, or as a reference. A must visit and there is so much information there that you can easily get lost or spend days looking at things.

Nihonto - very reputable real antique japanese sword dealer here in montreal. I have seen blades there up to 100K+.Maybe out of our price range but for education purpuses, the description of the blades and the very high quality pictures will help you appreciate the true art in the creation of Japanese swords.

Planning to buy a sword online and someone tell you it is an antique. Check here to see what you should know first.
